ABOUT COUNSELLING
Hello and welcome to my page. I'm a qualified psychotherapist and work in a person-centred way, which means your needs are at the centre of how I practise. I'm trained to work with children, young people and adults. Coming to counselling can be a big step for some people and I appreciate the bravery it takes to make that step. Everyone is welcome to this counselling service and my aim is to help you feel comfortable and accepted. In this way we can work together to make a difference in your life.

Before a counselling session begins you will be sent an assessment form. This will help you to articulate the issues you are facing and confirm if this service is right for you.

Most clients work initially within a block of 6 sessions with a review at the end of the block. Clients can choose to complete therapy at any point during the 6 weeks or continue.

Each session lasts for no more than 1 hour and can be arranged at a time which is convenient for you.
01
FACE TO FACE COUNSELLING
I work from various locations in my local area of Wester Ross including Torridon community hall and Lochcarron Community hub.

Home visits can be arranged in some cases
02
ONLINE COUNSELLING
Online counselling can be a more convenient source of support for many clients and I use encrypted platforms such as Protonmail and VSee for maximum security. If you'd like to talk by video, phone, instant messaging or email, I'm trained to work in all mediums.

Feel free to enquire about online counselling and explore which service might be the most suitable.
ABOUT

My name is Dolina Munro MA, DipHE, CMCOSCA and I’m a practicing Psychotherapist in the Highlands of Scotland. I'm a Lead Counsellor working with staff and students at a local college as well as a Lead counsellor in primary and secondary school settings. As a private counsellor I've got a wealth of experience working with adults and young people and see my work as a passion and privilege.
Having experienced the benefits of counselling in my own life I understand the vulnerability of being a client but also the importance of being heard. Being able to share with a caring professional allowed me to feel accepted and understood, as well as giving me the strength and perspective to move forward.
Counselling can be a big step in the right direction and I’m grateful to be able to use my skills and experience to help others. My qualifications include an MA, Diploma in Person-centred counselling, Diploma in Online counselling, and a Certificate in counselling Children and Young People (Strathclyde University). I’m a member of COSCA (Confederation of Scottish Counselling Agencies) and my registration number is 3653.
I regularly attend CPD events and receive monthly supervision in order to work to the best of my ability. Recent CPD training includes: Anxiety in Children, Trauma Rewind, Guided Visualistaion, Self-harm and Gender Diversity Training.

"Dolina is intuitive, empathic and non-judgemental. If you feel your are going through something in your life that is emotionally complex, she will help you 'de-tangle' and understand better. She made me feel validated and with a few insights. I would recommend counselling with her to anyone going through a hard time. It helped me exponentially.
"This service was hugely beneficial to me during lockdown. Dolina helped me to deal with anxiety and stress during a very difficult period of my life. I found her to be empathic and insightful and it was good to vent without feeling judged. She gave me tools for dealing with social anxiety which I use every day. Although I still have bad days, I’m grateful for this support."
"I found counselling made me feel lighter as I could release my frustrations and emotions. I was able to understand that I wasn’t to blame for my past and I could see where I was accountable. Having an outside perspective was useful and although I only had a few sessions it lifted something in me."
